'Once upon a time, I was trapped in a time machine,' Timmy typed on his computer tablet.
"I don't think you can really say 'upon' when referring to time. It's not like a table."
Timmy sighed and backspaced. 'Once, in time, I was trapped in a time machine,' he typed.
"We'll we're not really in time, are we?"
Timmy tried to hide his annoyance. 'Once.'
"I think the infinite loop makes that debatable.'
Timmy looked at his duplicate, whom he thought of as Timmy2. The hooked nose, thin face, receding hairline, everything was there. Timmy was a little disappointed. He always secretly hoped he was more handsome than the visage he saw in the morning mirror led him to believe. Sadly, that illusion was shattered.
"Ok then," Timmy gave in to Timmy2. 'Yesterday...'
Timmy2 shook his head, "There's not really a yesterday..."
"Or a tomorrow," added Timmy3.
Timmy sighed. "Look, I'm just trying to kill time while 8 and 9 fix the darn time machine." The three Timmys glanced over at two other Timmys gathered around a piece of machinery that looked like a cross between a jet engine and a snowblower, mostly because that's what it was.
"You would think with this many of us it would be fixed by now," said 12. Suddenly he started floating toward the ceiling. "Whoops, there goes the gravity again."
"Sorry," yelled 9.
Timmy's ears suddenly felt tight and clogged, like he was on a plane taking off. There was a pop and another Timmy appeared. "Errr, am I 15 or 16?"
"It's starting to get a little cramped," said 3.
Timmy looked around the bedroom sized compartment. He had stocked it with a cot, water, food, and other comforts to make his travels enjoyable. The time machine hadn't been intended to accommodate 16 people.
<pop> "Make that 17," said the newest arrival.
"What happens when no more of us can fit?" asked 6 with a worried tone.
"The time machine's temporal vortex limits its size, so we'll just get packed in tighter and tighter," said 4. "Eventually there will be so many of us in here, and our atoms will become so dense, that the time machine will collapse in on itself and trigger..."
"The Big Bang," all the Timmys said together.
"Well, that sucks," said Timmy.
"Actually, I'm not sure anything can suck in the vacuum of space," said 2.
"Oh shut up," Timmy replied.
